PSMD - Peak width of skeletonized mean diffusivity

PSMD - Peak width of skeletonized mean diffusivity
PSMD (peak width of skeletonized mean diffusivity) is a robust, fully-automated and easy-to-implement marker for cerebral small vessel disease based on DTI, white matter tract skeletonization and histogram analysis.

Details

PSMD (peak width of skeletonized mean diffusivity) is a robust, fully-automated and easy-to-implement marker for cerebral small vessel disease based on diffusion tensor imaging, white matter tract skeletonization (as implemented in FSL-TBSS) and histogram analysis. PSMD has been validated in several samples with cerebral small vessel disease. PSMD outperformed conventional imaging markers (white matter hyperintensity volume, lacune volume, microbleed number and brain volume) in several aspects. PSMD also had the highest inter-scanner reliabilty among diffusion markers. For more details, see Baykara et al., Annals of Neurology 2016.
