White matter lesion segmentation by k nearest neighbor classification with tissue type priors (kNN-TTP)

White matter lesion segmentation by k nearest neighbor classification with tissue type priors (kNN-TTP)
k Nearest Neighbor classification with tissue type priors is used to segment white matter hyperintensities on brain MRI.

Details

k Nearest Neighbor classification with tissue type priors (kNN-TTP) is used to automatically classify white matter hyperintensities from FLAIR and T1 weighted MRI images. Several studies have validated the algorithm against golden standards and other methods. Volumetric and spatial performance is high (ICC=0.96; SI=0.84+/-0.14).
